Faceborg

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good mornin'! I dropped the girls off at their schools and head down to Boxborough, listening to a podcast for the first half of the commute and catching up with my folks the rest of the way. So encouraged to hear my mom is feeling well and that they might come out to visit us next month. 8:45am

Writer Pat Gohn (aka @PatGohn ) describes an experience of marriage I can so relate to! (article link) Highly recommended reading! 9:44am

Ah, more "new tone" from the party of tolerance and diversity... (related link) What inspired the venom? Well, she's a conservative. That cannot be tolerated! 10:29am

Not that I used this feature, but sigh: Sprint customers new and old get hotspot data cap of 5GB: (related link) 10:55am

Faceborg Today is the big Facebook F8 conference. I'll be listening in while I do my afternoon debugging. Some comments and thoughts follow below. 1:00pm

Zuckerberg: “Real time serendipity”? I'm getting creeped out in real time. I feel like I'm stalking and being stalked. 1:57pm

Liking the new #faceborg hashtag I'm seeing on Twitter. Summarizes how I'm feeling while listening in on the keynote at #f8. 2:00pm

Remember: you keeping in touch with friends is your goal, efficiently collecting your data for marketers is theirs. #f8 2:04pm

Via NateLanxon: "...take a two-terabyte dump" is my favourite quote from any keynote, ever. #f8 2:44pm

Nikon 1 So I fired about Pandora again to listen to some music while navigating some code. It failed on two amusing fronts: a) the ad overload that Pandora now presents was showing me ads for Match.com. Yeah, right. b) And then because it's trying to do IP based geolocation it was recommending women in Cary, North Carolina because our office traffic gets routed through our NC office before it goes out on The Internets. "View women in Cary!" *smirk* Their business model is not going to work if they keep that up! 4:07pm

Left work around 5:30 and went to Golds for the evening Muscle Mix class. Have that "good sore" feeling all over. When I got back I had a light dinner while helping Claire with her Algebra II homework. Since I'm with Claire, Michelle is tucking the boys in with their prayers. 9:09pm

I'm excited by these new Nikons coming down the pike. 9:47pm
