The close of a beautiful weekend

Posted by Scott at 08:12 PM

After the boys' last nap yesterday, I took the whole family to 5:30PM Mass. It's because I also had to lector at 8AM Mass this morning. That time I went by myself because at 8AM the boys are in the midst of their first morning nap. It was strange to go to Church without a lot of fuss. Just get dressed, hop in the car, and whoila! On my way back home I picked up some Bruger's Bagels for the family. We did a walk around the loop to get the boys some air.Claire saw her friend Leah on the way back. She spent several hours playing there and the rest of us laid down for a nap. After the nap all of us spent some time cooling down in the pool.

Alyssa called for a while and we caught up on news. I mentioned to her that Michelle and I are in discussions about moving to the River Grove area, perhap next summer after Claire has finished 1st grade. I'd need to see if I could still work for VAutomation remotely there or if I'd need to take a new job, perhaps at a company like PrairieComm, who knows? Having mom and dad decide not to move to Michigan helps. I feared that if we moved to Chicago over the past two years, dad would retire and then he'd move away like he's often talked about.

After talking with Alyssa, Michelle and I bailed out on our plans to go to the Home Depot. Instead we took the kids for a quick dinner at Taco Bell. We were quite the sight with a boy on each of our laps. Upon returning we took one last stroll around the loop and then got the kids to bed. The boys have been having trouble getting a good night of sleep. We may have to spend the next few nights letting them cry it out and getting them back on a reasonable schedule. Let's hope the whole house fan can help drown out the sounds of their cries a bit.
