Three day weekend...

Posted by Scott at 05:56 AM

First off, I put up about 15 pictures last night. It's a pretty wide assortment including Michelle (who shows her new haircut in one of the later pictures), my dad, and of course the kids.

Alternatively, you can view the pictures here at dotPhoto and optionally order prints. Try out the dotPhoto link. I think their previews look better than ShutterFly's previews. If you think it's pretty much the same as my own Sights and Sounds copy, I'd be glad to hear about it. It takes me extra time to make the thumbnails, indexes, etc on my own website. It also consumes a huge portion of my ISP webspace. I'm already at 30MB out of my 40MB limit. I'd like to burn the webpage pictures I've already done onto CD-ROM and remove them soon.

Mom and dad had a great time at North Conway, New Hampshire. It's a very scenic drive for the most part but they had two additional things going for them. First, they took the Kankamangas highway, which is one of the most scenic roads in the USA. Second, the autumn colors are in peak form north of here. Double bonus! Factor in all the shopping you can do there, and it's a perfect trip for mom.

A few days ago my brother, Christopher, and his fiance signed a contract for their first house. I'm very excited for them both. It's just barely outside River Grove. The bonus for them was how unbelieveably low the interest rates are right now. It allowed them to get a much better loan than they normally could. Under normal circumstances I'd be considering re-financing our house.

Monday is Columbus Day. I've convinced the folks to stay a bit beyond that. Claire has that day off from school. Since she already has a three day weekend and the folks are still here, I'm taking Monday off as well. It should be one last bash before they leave. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the weather will be all that noteworthy, but we'll see...
