This morning mom and dad start their drive back to Chicago. Depending on which way they go and how many tourist stops they make, it should take about 2 or 3 days. Today my Grandpa Bilik and Maria head south from Chicago to Boca Raton, Florida to spend the rest of the fall and winter. I mailed out some pictures of the kids to him yesterday.
We had a nice three day weekend. We lit a few fires in the fireplace. We ordered some Chinese food last night. Yesterday, Claire, Abby, Dad and I went down to CompUSA. I wanted to look over the Macintosh line of computers, in particular the iMacs. I'm intrigued by them now that they are as simple as always but have unix as their base operating system. I won't go into more detail than that. After we left CompUSA we went to Kips ice cream parlor one last time.
Claire and I are a little bummed that the weekend is over now and we have to go back to work and school. The good news for Claire is that she has Wednesday off as well because of a teacher meeting. So this is a very short week for Claire, only three days of school total.
Claire wants me to say that she has a little disposable camera that she's using occasionally. Because she is six, she likes to take picture of silly things, like the TV. We'll probably drop it off at the drug store to be developed soon, but I wouldn't expect any web pictures from it.
We saw some pictures of Chris' upcoming home. It looks like it'll be a nice place for he and Katie to live. Better yet, it has a pool in the back yard. Suddenly he's become the favorite brother (grin)!
We had a neighbor come over the other night to sit while the adults went to eat at Charmin's restaurant. The food we had was excellent. It was also nice to eat quietly without having to keep an eye on the kids.
Abby has developed a real habit this past month or two of twirling her fingers in her hair. We've been gently trying to tell her to stop but I think it's not going to work. I think that even when she's grown up, she'll be twirling her locks of hair. One afternoon on the way to Church, Abby was crying in the back seat because her finger got stuck in her hair. The hair got wrapped around her finger too tightly. You would think that might have helped break the habit, but within a few minutes, she was twirling her hair again.
I got an email from a possible relative in France named Yan Bilik. He's a web designer and has a wife, Pascale, and new son, Elliot (18 months or so). I'm gonna check if it's ok if I post a link to his website. There he has plenty of pictures of Elliot so that his family stays up to date.
I took a few nice pictures over the weekend but I'll wait till I have a few more before I extract them and put them online.
