The boys visited the pediatrician this morning for their regular checkup. I don't have the details handy, but it can be summed up as follows: Michael is an inch taller, Daniel is a pound heavier. It looks like they'll have a followon appointment at the one year mark to make up a vaccination that wasn't ready today because of a national vaccine shortage for this particular shot. We may also give them the chicken pox vaccine at that time.
I've been playing with iTunes on the Mac. It's pretty darn cool. The music visualizer is hypnotic! iTunes's visualizer is to adults what Baby Mozart is to the twins. To get a small idea of what it's like, look at any of the backdrops here and imagine them animated and moving to the sound of the music. It's a trip! I'm eager to try out iTunes2 which was just released. I also plan to buy a small audio cable to connect my Mac to the adjacent Cambridge Soundworks stereo. The Mac's built in speaker are fine for most applications, but lack umph! for music.
So far one of Michelle's favorite features is the cool screen saver that's included. You can point it at a folder of pictures and it does beautiful pans, zooms, and transitions between the pictures. Sounds simple but the smoothness of the pans, zooms, and transitions is a subtle way of showing off CPU and graphics horsepower. Nice touch!
