Humor making the weblog rounds

Posted by Scott at 11:15 PM

If you're sick of hearing euphemisms like "friendly fire", "bi-partisan", "brainstorming", etc. you'll enjoy Lake Superior State University's 2002 List of Banished Words. The words and expressions are 'officially' banished due to "Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness".

On the other hand, if you're just tired of being assaulted with supermodels on the covers of "women's magazines" every time you go through a checkout counter at a grocery store, then get a chuckle from The Wisdom of Supermodels. I'm not certain how accurate the quotes are, but it's fun nonetheless to read the vacuous statements attributed to the people who are always reminding us of how unfit, not with-it, and ugly we are by comparison.

Last but not least, if you're just annoyed with computers and all the WindowsXP ads in particular, check out Dave Barry's latest article entitled "Learning to love the computer, warts and all". Dave doesn't do much for me, but I've several relatives who enjoy his humor who can relate to what he's saying.
