Nashua Parishes to merge this fall

Posted by Scott at 09:03 PM

The announcement has been made in our area that three of our Catholic Churches will be likely closed and those parishes will be merged in with existing parishes. You can read the details about it here and here. Our parish, Infant Jesus (aka IJ), is slated to pick up some Portugese ministry, including a Portugese Mass. Of course, nothing is final until the local bishop signs off on it.

The home we went inside of this afternoon (MLS 843947) was nice on the inside. It's exterior wasn't in the shape it should have been considering the price. The bedroom layout upstairs was a bit unusual. In true housing market hysteria, it started showing this morning and already had a contract offer on it this afternoon. Michelle felt bad when she heard the house was on sale due to a divorce. All through the house you could see pictures of the two little blonde girls who reminded me of Claire and Abby. We didn't even know them and yet felt bad for them. Michelle jokingly said to me that she didn't want a house that big if it led to divorce. We later joked that if we do stay in our current house a while longer, we'll just have to deal with a higher than normal "love density" (measured in units of love per square foot).

I tried to take the girls to the YMCA for swimming tonight but I guess the YMCA closes early on Saturdays. As a consolation prize I took the girls to Kips Ice Cream on Main Street in downtown Nashua. I really had to twists their arms for that one!

We're going to try to see if we can get inside the house in Hudson (MLS 840423) either tomorrow or Monday. It was a bit of a winding drive (turn right, turn left, turn right, turn left, repeat until lost) but overall not really far from downtown Nashua.

I saw a Segway, the self balancing electric scooter, up close after Mass this evening. A friend and fellow IJ member works for Segway and brought one out. I took a few pictures with my camera and will hopefully show them next week.
