Vacation pictures

Vacation PicturesI ran out of patience waiting for Photoshop Elements to arrive and had a few hours this afternoon while the boys were sleeping and the girls were resting. I fired up the GIMP, iGal, Emacs, and ftp and did some photo editting and album creation. Click on the thumbnail to the left to see the album. There are lots of good shots.

Michelle and I took the family to run some errands this afternoon. Michelle has wanted to replace the curtains in the family room. I wanted to go to Trader Joe's to pick up some Chai mix. We split up and used our Motorola digital 2-way radios to go to both places at the same time. Afterwards we took the kids to Roby Park to climb and swing. When we left the park the boys were cranky from hunger. We let them have a little BurgerKing snack in the van while we drove back to Milford. It kept them content so that we could enjoy the drive home.

The boys have had some stomach bug this weekend. I think as many diapers have been changed this weekend as I did the entire time Michelle was in Arizona. Tonight I bought a special dinner for two (carry out) that I thought Michelle and I could eat in relative peace after the boys went to bed. Unfortunately when I got home they were still awake in their cribs so Michelle brought them down for a little while longer. So much for a quiet dinner.

Tonight Michelle and I watched the "made for TV" movie version of Brave New World. I read the book back in high school but didn't catch much the significance of it back then. It was scary to think about how much our modern society has slid down the slope toward the world projected in that book. Most reviewers thought that this made for TV movie was a bad rendition of the story. It had been too long since I read the book for me to remember. I also rented A Beautiful Mind on DVD tonight. It's supposed to be very good. We hope to watch it later this week. Perhaps our time watching Brave New World would have been better spent seeing a Beautiful Mind instead.

I'm sorry there isn't much thoughtful content tonight. The boys repeated crying and diaper changes have worn me out a bit mentally. I hope all of us get well soon.
