Odds and Ends

Garage Band Actually Believes There Is A 'Terre Haute Sound' Thanks to my friend, Will, who pointed this bit of humor out to me. It would be of interest to Alyssa and Gina who, like me, spent time in Terre Haute. During my four years there Terre Haute was considered an "armpit of the universe". It had the privilege of executing Timothy McVeigh.

On the way into work, NPR was doing a special report on the history of the coffee break. 350 million cups a day in the US! Mind boggling... Also interesting to note that Buffalo, NY finally has a claim to fame: the first companies to offer coffee breaks.

After a bit of feedback from my friend, Maria, I've tweaked the parameters on the new version of this webpage. Part of the speed in the Livejournal version of the page was that I was limiting the front page to just five entries. The Movable Type version doesn't scope the front page by number of entries, but by number of days. I had originally set it to 20 days, which made the front page rather large and long to download. I've scoped it back to one week and also added the cheesy (Internet Explorer only) transitions when entering and leaving the page.
