In Her Prime

Posted by Scott at 09:40 PM

Michelle - (Warning: geeky math humor) Yesterday Michelle was a perfect square but today she's in her prime. Hint: she didn't just turn 17. We went out for dinner at The Mile Away to celebrate. Excellent food. Michelle had the Chicken Provencale — pounded chicken breasts sauteed with roasted garlic, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, butter and marsala wine. I had the Holsteinshnitzel — tender veal, pounded, breaded and sauteed until golden brown topped with a fried egg. It's a heart attack on a plate, eh? I'm glad I had a good workout at the gym this morning!

Click to see largerWeb Dev - I haven't written in a few days because I tinkered with moving this site from MovableType (aka MT) to WordPress (aka WP). If you click on the thumbnail at right, you can see a full size image. It was okay but I think I'll stay with MT for a while longer. I brainstormed on a way to get to my goals within MT. Currently adding a comment often seems to take an eternity because the server can get bogged down with other tasks since it's a shared webhost. WP is faster on comments, but can be slower on other things. I came up with a hack to MT that might get me where I'd like things to be.

Van - Tomorrow Michelle's van goes in for a regular 60K service maintenance. Michelle will be effectively stuck at home. Even though she'll have my lil' VW at home with her, (a) she's nervous about driving it and (b) it wouldn't hold all the kids anyway. Alyssa, she doesn't know how you survive without being able to drive! Even just this one day is making her anxious and feeling cooped up.

Work - I heard a rumor that I may need to go on a business trip in a few weeks. I hope not. Despite the otherwise enticing location (France), it's a long flight, Michelle will be alone, I won't be able to see much of things, and airport security is getting to be a necessary but long pain. Just to be on the safe side, I verified that I still had a current passport from my old trip to Cambridge.
