Phone - Michelle is now upgraded to a new Motorola i580. My phone is off to Motorola for repair. I'm using her old phone hardware with my ID transplanted into it. You know, when I first bought my i580 last August, I thought that the features were overkill, but now I miss them a bit. No color, no camera, smaller display, vanilla ringtones, no Tetris, etc. I guess I was getting spoiled. Ah well, it's only temporary.
Nintendo - All is back in harmony in the boys' universe. Timothy got his Nintendo DS back from repair about a week ago and Michael's arrived yesterday. I admired Daniel's willingness to do some sharing of his working DS with Michael. I think that in a small way he empathized with Michael.
Netflix - I noticed that the sidebar section with our current DVD rentals was down for a few days in a row now so I decided to investigate. It's not uncommon for it to be missing once in a while. Indeed a few days ago when it was blank it was because the Netflix site was down for routine maintenance.
When it came back up, I think that's when my program's troubles began. They changed the format of their movie URLs yet again. It's changed several times since I started extracting our DVD titles from their site. I rely on the relative steadiness of their webpage formats to figure out which bits of HTML represent our rentals. Alas, since I am writing a lot more Perl at my job, fixing the Netflix parsing program took only a few moments.
The Passion - I'm still working my way through The Dolorous Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ on my commutes in lieu of my usual array of audio podcasts. There's still a good chance of finishing it by Holy Thursday. I made it through the preface nine meditations and am on chapter 29 of 66. I still find it a very recommendable Lenten resolution. While it may not have the visual presentation of Mel Gibson's Passion, it goes into far more detail and you have more time to let your mind consider the events, characters, their thoughts, the politics of the time, etc.
Neighbors - Our across-the-street neighbors moved out late last weekend to take a job in Champaign, IL. My family got a chance to meet the new neighbors late this afternoon. They also have five children via a combined family (ie. remarriage). They move into the house in about a week. Unlike when we moved into our current house, they are already Milford residents moving within the town — I'm guessing for the extra room in their new house.
