They don't check out!
Cancellation - When we last left our hero, Humble Verification Dude, he was enjoying the nice weather in Toronto while debugging design integration issues at one of our main offices in the Great White North. As he and his posse were driving back to the airport, the weather briefly turned to an intense downpour — the kind that makes you look for pairs of animals looking for an ark. It only lasted 10-15 minutes and then passed with the sun returning within half an hour.
Nonetheless, it was enough to cancel our flight back to Boston's Logan airport. We tried rescheduling a few other flights, but none of those panned out. In the end we punted and took a shuttle to the airport Hilton hotel. To make the best of a non-ideal situation we ate an awesome quality (and overpriced) dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Unlike the Courtyard Marriot near AMD we'd stayed at the other nights, the Hilton wanted to charge $13 for internet access. $160/night and they don't include internet?! Unbelievable!
Friday morning we also had an overpriced breakfast at the hotel and then head to the airport for a 10:30am flight back to Boston. Amazingly even that flight was delayed by about 45 minutes. We didn't get out of Boston's Logan airport until about 1pm. We opted to not drive back to the office because we figured we could be more productive going straight home and logging in from home. It turned out to be true.
Saturday - Today was a rather warm and somewhat hazy/humid day. Since I had no opportunity to go to a gym on Monday (Memorial Day), Wednesday or Friday (Toronto), I went to the Merrimack YMCA for a class in the morning in a meager attempt to compensate. In the afternoon I took a brief nap and then went out to cut the lawn as it looks like we'll have rain tomorrow. After cleaning up, Michelle and I took the kids out to Chilis for dinner. They are now offering a "Sunset Menu" before 5:30pm for additional value. We fed the whole clan for about $36+tip. As a side note, $36 bought me a 5oz sirloin wrapped in bacon and side of mashed potatoes at the Hilton. I'm just sayin... We wrapped up the evening watching Hermie: A Common Caterpillar to calm the boys down before bed.
