We all went out to shop for some Christmas house decorations at Home Depot and then had a cheap lunch at Burger King.

Researching dad's cell phone. In theory he could use it w/his computer as an Internet modem and get 10x-20x over his vanilla dialup.
Ahh, so close. ATT/Cingular does not offer decent 3G data service at mom and dad's house. Chicago: yes. Benton Harbor, Michigan: no.
For kicks had my laptop access internet via my humble cell phone data plan. I remembered why I keep my home page "dialup optimized". ;-/
Timothy ran errands with me: ATM stop, car fillup, and picking up Chinese takeout for our family dinner. The kids are now in bed.
After simulating dialup earlier today, investigated places I could remove a few more kilobytes of page loading cruft on the homepage.
