Short Updates

Another early but smooth commute. Finished another [slightly biased :-) ] audio book on the way in. (related link) 8:29am

Heading to a "going away lunch" in a couple of hrs. The guy is going to do biomedical GPGPU work, a truly worthwhile use of our technology. 10:06am

Had a nice boondoggle "going away" lunch outside under patio umbrellas at Allora Ristorante. (related link) 2:00pm

Quote: "Physics...can apparently make for strange bedfellows" AMD works w/Intel owned Havok to keep nVidia at bay. (related link) 2:26pm

Dawdled a bit with Google Street View because its complete coverage of River Grove (my IL home town) is just amazing! 2:28pm

Who-hoo! Our Milford pool will open on time. (related link) I must let Michelle know. The kids will be glad to hear it. 2:34pm

Yeah, the end of my "in the office by 7am" week is here. Efforts will continue next week, but without the same intensity. (hopefully...) 5:25pm

Had a sluggish commute home (1 hr 20 min) due to common summertime Friday evening traffic. A plus: I-495 North had 3 miles of fresh paving. 7:54pm

Got MovableType to talk native webDAV protocol to the dotMac iDisk without mounting it as a (extremely slow) local filesystem. 9:41pm

For those who didn't get the earlier geek talk, I'm experimenting with having Apple's dotMac (or MobileMe) host a MovableType based website. 9:45pm
