Good morning all! I dropped the girls off at middle school and head down to the MA office. I offered up a Rosary for the health of my wife and mother along the way. Then I listened to an excerpt of the biography of Fr. Gereon Goldmann the rest of the way. (related link) It was a nice tonic after watching "Avatar" last week.
It still boggles my mind. Right now Michelle is at Golds teaching her 20/20/20 class. Later today she'll receive her 1st of 28 radiation treatments. It just seems like such a non sequitur.
With the new VirtualBox beta version allowing limited virtualization of OSX (but only on Macs at the moment) should we count the seconds until Steve Jobs persues legal action against Sun/Oracle? (related link) Sure, it's okay to run Windows on a Mac, but...
Did you know that according to Gartner, mobile phones will overtake PCs as the most common Web access device worldwide by 2013? Now, is your website ready to be viewed on the small screen? [via QUALCOMM Incorporated].
Got off the phone with my much better half. She says this first zapping session went okay and on time. I'm logging out for the day and heading up to another Opus Dei Evening of Reflection.
Whoa! Major storm here. It was so gorgeous outside back 'round lunchtime. Close your sunroofs! :-).
Best laid plans 'n all. I started north from the office when I got a call from Michelle that the house lost power from that storm. I told her I'd bail on tonight's retreat and head home so that she didn't have to deal with the kids and no power by herself. Sure enough, 15 minutes before I pulled up at the house, power was restored.
Unpacking our new dehumidifier. Not as exciting as unboxing a new iPad, but definitely more useful. ;-p.
After a night of things not going as expected, I was in no mood to download/watch another episode of "Chuck" with my girls, but we did surf some iTunes music for a while. Man, the cast of "Glee" has a lot of songs in the top 100! And here I thought of it as just a TV show...
sigh It's past 10pm here and I need to make the long commute down to Boxborough again mañana. Good night all!

State attorney general demands ex-professor's files from University of Virginia

Name that metaphor! & win a FREE Scott Hahn CD set on the Gospel of St. John
Comment: Hey, did I mention that I won a little contest held by Joe McClane today? I learned a bit in the process as well.

Adobe shows off prototype Android tablet running Air and Flash 'flawlessly'
Comment: You don't say?! But, but, but I thought embedded devices couldn't run Adobe Flash well, let alone leverage the dedicated hardware accelerators for video, audio, 2D and 3D. [Says the engineer who knows what his co-workers are doin'...]
Excerpt: In addition to demonstrating Flash running on phones like the Nexus One and Palm Pre at the now-happening Web 2.0 Expo, Adobe also has a prototype Android tablet of some sort on hand that runs Flash and Air apps "flawlessly."
Google Chrome Blog: Pedal to the Chrome metal: Our fastest beta to date for Windows, Mac and Linux
Comment: If you're a fan of the Chrome web browser, which I recommend, the news just keeps getting better with each release. For those who don't know why Javascript speed is important, it is a key element in creating dynamic web based services and applications like email, documents, presentations, etc. that run smoothly and more interactively within your browser.
