A belated good morning! We're back from Mass and breakfast. Claire's going to do some ice skating at the outdoor rink in Milford. The boys' friend Jamie is coming over from some sledding in the back yard.
I also spent some time when I first woke up tweaking the archive script so that my "snapshots" look a bit more like old fashioned Polaroid snapshots.
Went to pick up Claire from the town rink. She loved it compared to the indoor rink in Nashua. She said you don't feel like you're just moving in circles with a herd. It's less crowded so she had the freedom to try some tricks. Now Michelle is heading to Lowes with Abby to look at tile for the upstairs bathrooms. She's planning on having the linoleum ripped out and having them tiled. The boys had fun sledding and are now warming up by the fire playing Wii.
So according to Tim, this weekend Abby unintentionally did a System Update to the Wii. Nintendo broke/undid some of the hacks Timothy and I worked on over Thanksgiving break. The games all stored on the USB hard drive are not accessible at the moment.
Late this afternoon I took Abby up to New Boston for a sleep over. I've been doing more nerdy research on the development tools available for the Chumby: a web server, Perl, Python, SQLite3. Mu-ha-ha! There's a lot of potential there for a small Linux gadget that only takes 4 watts. Meanwhile TImothy got interested in "skinning" the Acekard for his Nintendo DS. We looked over several and decided to go with an Indiana Jones theme.
Saw this story ‘Basic’ can get a little tricky in new health care law and it opened with "Should health insurers have to cover treatment of Lyme disease?" My jaw just about dropped. While I didn't see it growing up in River Grove, I've seen several folks get it around here, including Claire last winter. The effects can be pretty severe. I just have a hard time picturing it NOT being covered. So it begins as central planners decide how "universal care" saves money.
On the flip side in health news the Telegraph had this inspiring story about seniors who keep fit and active well into their 90s, including one woman who was an overweight potato at 45 and is now a competitive, medal-winning senior swimmer.
So I think that Disney just showed the last new episode (ever?) of Hannah Montana. We didn't watch it but we're are tuned in to watch part 3 of the 'Suite Life on Deck' "Twister" episodes. Good night all!
