Legacy Console Emulation

Posted by Scott at 11:59 PM

Good morning! We took the family to early Mass because the girls were serving this morning. Aside from a minor issue of a nose bleed, they did well. Afterwards I took 'em all out for breakfast at DFE. When we got home I folded laundry while watching part 1 of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". It's been a few years since I listened to the audiobook — awesome narration by the way — so my memory of the events was a little rusty. 10:37am

Fixed some minor bugs in the script that generates Today's Gospel at our site. Every so often the USCCB changes things and makes things break... 11:13am

Via Jeff_Jacoby: A former director of Britain's socialized National Health Service has died after waiting 9 months for an operation. 11:31am

Enjoyed Jeff Miller's writeup: Vestmints, for those with Laetare Intolerance. An oldie, but still a goodie. 11:51am

Timothy and I installed two legacy console emulators on our Nintendo Wii this afternoon: Snes9x GX, to play SNES games, and FCE Ultra GX, an NES emulator. I also put Super Mario World's 1 and 2 on for him to play with. 5:19pm

In honor of the 119th anniversary of the 1st documented Ice Cream Sundae, we're making a bunch of 'em tonight. 6:04pm

Not that I had my heart set on it, but a bit surprised that the book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (1998) is NOT available on the Kindle. Ordered a paperback copy for the boys. 6:31pm

Thinking that next weekend I may want to watch Charlton Heston & Sophia Loren in "El Cid". Can anyone talk me out of it?? 6:57pm
