Good morning! I took the family to 7am Mass on this first Sunday in Lent. Took them all over to DFE for breakfast afterwards. Then we dropped Claire off at Subway. She has the 8:30 to 3:30 shift today.
Getting ready for another annual Lenten mortification: doing our annual Income Taxes.
If only I could give Jingle, Belle, and Snickers social security numbers, I might be able to claim ~$10K in dependent tax deductions. :-) #meow
My annual tax prep mortification is over. Well, I may soon have to help Claire with hers, but that should be easy by comparison. I checked my records and it was exactly this weekend last year that I did my taxes too. Evidently Michelle's eagerness to get them filed kicks in about the same time…
After wrapping up taxes, I played with a few snapshots I took earlier. See them below. Then I went to DFE for a couple of coffees and picked up Claire from Subway. Now Timothy is showing me some of the Ruby he's learned.
Getting false warnings about 32 vs 64 bit from Handbrake with respect to VLC? Here's the solution. Turns out that after I fixed that, I still had issues because the DVD had a gouge in it that made it unreadable about a third of the way in.
Mix a lil' science and religion in last weeks' Dilbert.
We have three sleepover guests tonight. That makes five girls in the house between 13 and 16 years old. I predict a fair amount of giggling. I took the ten of us out to Golden Palace for dinner tonight. It's always fun turning heads when you walk in with eight kidlets. We had a great time together though. Lots o' laughs.
Tim is showing me the IceWM with a Windows theme. It looks so much like ol' Windows 95 and 98, you could almost trick people. "Hey, how come this Windows doesn't crash twice a day?!?!"
Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Been trying to find a couple of movies to put in the Netflix queue for Michelle, but having little luck. All the girls are busy downstairs laughing and giggling. It's their vacation though so let 'em enjoy a late night. Good night all!
“Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
‘This is the time of fulfillment.
The kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the gospel.’ ” — Mark 1
