Good morning! Claire is a bit sad that she has a track meet to attend. I don't think she has to run in it, but has to help out. On the three day weekend! The rest of us will be going to the Y this morning.
For the past few years I've been a bit jealous at how propane has gotten pricier while natural gas got much cheaper (mainly due to hydrofracking). When we moved to Milford, the two were roughly the same. But now it looks as though due to the demonization of coal usage for electricity, natural gas is about to skyrocket.
“Watermarking”… You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means... (related story)
We were all going to go to the Y, but because Claire needed to be dropped off around 9 o'clock (also the start time for cardio classes), it was just Timothy and I. We had good workouts. Tim came to join me at the end for the toning and abs workout.
Michelle took Abby and Daniel to their dance classes. While she was out I had some setup to do on the main TiVo because it got an update and now the Netflix and YouTube channels needed to be re-authorized for their newly re-designed apps. Once done I played a couple of short shows for me, Timothy, and Michael. One was this 2006 documentary on the history of video games from Pong to the Wii. This documentary was before so many video games shifted to mobile platforms like iPhone, Android, tablets, etc.
Michelle and Daniel came back. I folded a big basket o' whites. I offered to take Timothy to Toadstool Books for a title he's been wanting, but he's in the middle of Paper Mario. Now it's time for me to pick up Abby. Claire is biking her way back from today's Track Meet.
Picked up Abby from her dance class. Now we're off to Mass to celebrate Pentecost. Happy Birthday Catholic Church! While I was driving to get Abby, I learned something I'd never known about G.K. Chesterton. While he is considered one of the most popular writers of the early twentieth century and a great defender of the sanity of Christianity via popular media of his time, guess what? His wife's maiden name was “Blogg”. This was decades before we would use blogs on the internet. Chesterton quipped that everyone should have their own newspaper. And due to “blogs”, in a sense now everyone can.
Went to 4 o'clock Pentecost Mass. Our pastor gave a great sermon where he gave us a thumbnail sketch of the various roles he's had a priest and how he drew upon the Holy Spirit as he changed roles in each. This weekend marks 43 years since his ordination.
After Mass we went for dinner at Amigos and stopped by the Milford McD's because they are having a dollar special on smoothies and frappes this holiday weekend.
Because it's been rather muggy, I used my Kindle Fire more this evening. My laptop just seemed too warm to hold for casual news surfing. Got the boys tucked in bed with their prayers. Watched a short video podcast and went to bed. Good night all.
“Jesus stood up and exclaimed,
‘Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink.
As Scripture says:
Rivers of living water will flow from within him who believes in me.’ ” — John 7
