Protests - I just noticed this. In Catholic tradition today is the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker (see also here). Does anyone else find it ironic that millions of illegal immigrants (a large portion who are Catholic) are going to skip work today in order to protest enforcement of the nation's immigration laws and request amnesty?
I guess it has more to do with it being May Day. According to Wikipedia "May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist, and anarchist groups."
Meanwhile today the girls' school vacation ends. For me it's back to work this morning. Weekend's over… what a nice one it was!
Birthday - Happy Birthday wishes go out to our nephew and cousin, Kyle Tarpey, who turns three today. Kyle is Timothy's virtual twin: roughly 2 months apart in age, both blondes of similar build, and usually of similar dispositions.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Kyle is so excited! We had a party with the family last night- he kept saying "thank you everybody"- so cute. Today he is happy to be playing with his new toys- we cut the lawn with his new bubble mower, watered plants, and now he is eating gummy worms.
Did Abby's birthday present from us make it there? I mailed it last Tuesday.
Have a great day!
Lys
Hi Lyss,
Glad to hear that Kyle had such a nice birthday! Abby did get all the backlogged gifts: yours, Suzy's, and mom and dad's. I could not get over how LONG it took for mom and dad's 1st Communion gifts to arrive. I think it got on a barge, went down the Mississippi River, through the Panama canal, down the west side of South America, around the southern tip of Chile and Argentina, stopped for a Bahama vacation, and back north to the Boston post office. I think it took 2 weeks for that delivery.
I hope mom and dad get the birthday gift I sent them this week.
Had mom and dad made the Michigan announcement by the time of Kyle's party? If so, did it affect the celebration?
